Following the example of Time Out London and many ather Time Out cities around the globe Time Out İstanbul organized its first Love İstanbul Awards in 2019. Starting in 2018 thousands of İstanbulites picked their favorite places in our citywide vote and pointed to the local gems they loved the most for all to see and experience.
What makes İstanbul one of the most amazing cities in the world? Is it the thousands year history that witnessed 3 empires, the diverse culture, the succulent food, the incredible Bosphorus stretching between two continents in the same city? All of those perhaps but the vital factor is the city’s diverse mix of people and neighborhoods. The Time Out Love İstanbul Awards, supported by the Mayor of İstanbul, are a chance to celebrate that by handing over to the people who know the capital best: İstanbulites. As the online voting started in 2018 thousands of İstanbulites nominated and voted for their favorite spots in different categories. The awards were handed out early in 2019 at the prestigious Çırağan Palace Kempinski.
